Blaze Foley & Friends - A Tribute Concert
Wo: Kulturcafé Henriette - 1200 Wien , Staudingergasse 10
Songpoets Society welcomes you all to a special evening celebrating American cult figure and singer-songwriter Blaze Foley (1949-1989), all happening in the beautiful intimate concert room of Kulturcafe Henriette! It will be an evening of songs by Blaze, songs about Blaze, and songs by Blaze's friends and contemporaries like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark. You'll get to witness a unique evening of songs by a unique bunch of songwriters. Maybe interspersed by some short readings of segments of Blaze's biography, but mostly a musical evening brought to you by Songpoets Society's core duo: Herald K and Othmar Loschy.
Songpoets Society was founded by Herald K and Othmar Loschy, and is an organisation and musical performance group devoted to commemorating legendary songwriters of the past.
Herald K is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Vienna. He has released two albums: 'Strange Delights', and 'Mythologies'. Herald K describes his music as 'Folk Noir'. Arrangements are folksy, involving mainly acoustic instruments. His lyrics are often inspired by old, sometimes ancient, literature. In these songs you can find everything from Greek mythology to Arthurian legend. When singing covers, Herald tends to gravitate towards the Americana genre and legendary songwriters of the past...
