Willkommen zu einem Doppelkonzert mit den Singer-Songwritern SHEELA NEWLEY und HERALD K, die beide vom Multiinstrumentalisten STEPHAN STEINER begleitet werden. Sheela wird ihre neue Debütsingle vorstellen, und die beiden werden viele ihrer eigenen Kompositionen spielen, gemischt mit einigen Coverversionen ihrer Lieblingssongwriter. Und da der Termin kurz vor seinem Geburtstag liegt, könnt ihr euch auch auf den einen oder anderen Bob-Dylan-Song auf die Setlists freuen! Außerdem ist geplant, dass Sheela und Herald gemeinsam ein paar Duette singen (!!!).
SHEELA NEWLEY ist eine genreübergreifende Künstlerin, deren amerikanische Wurzeln, indisches Erbe und Jahre des Unterwegsseins ihren leuchtenden Mix aus Folk-, Soul- und Indie-Elementen prägen. Ihre Songs erzählen von Heilung und Transformation, getragen von intimen Melodien und Texten, die sich wie Seiten einer persönlichen Mythologie anfühlen. Sheela hat gerade ihre Debütsingle veröffentlicht und lädt die Zuhörer ein zu dem ersten Kapitel ihres musikalischen Werdens.

HERALD K, ursprünglich aus Norwegen und mittlerweile in Wien lebend, bewegt sich musikalisch im Feld des „Folk Noir“. Seine vorwiegend akustischen Arrangements tragen Texte, die sich aus alter, teils antiker Literatur speisen, von griechischer Mythologie bis zur Artus-Sage. Im Zentrum seiner Konzerte stehen Geschichten und Sprache, eingebettet in ein sein eigenes musikalisches Universum.

Begleitet werden beide werden an diesem Abend von Multiinstrumentalist STEPHAN STEINER, einer prägenden Figur der Wiener Folkszene. Mit Geige, Akkordeon, Nyckelharpa, Konzertina oder Tin Whistle schafft er Klangräume, verbindet Tradition und Gegenwart, und wird an diesem Abend zur zentralen Figur dieses ganz besonderen musikalischen Zusammenspiels.

Welcome to a double concert with singer-songwriters SHEELA NEWLEY and HERALD K, both accompanied by multiinstrumentalist Stephan Steiner. Sheela will present her brand new debut single, and the two will play many of their own compositions, mixed with covers by some of their favourite songwriters. And with the date being close to his birthday, do expect the occassional Bob Dylan song on the setlists too! The plan is also to join forces for a couple of duets (!!!).
SHEELA NEWLEY is a genre-blending artist whose American roots, Indian heritage, and years of wandering shape her luminous mix of folk, soul, and indie elements. Her songs trace a journey of healing and transformation, carried by intimate melodies and lyrics that feel like pages from a personal myth. Now based in Vienna, she often performs alongside Austrian folk legend Stephan Steiner, whose spellbinding violin adds depth and timelessness to her sound. Having just released her debut single, “Zeros and Ones”, Sheela invites listeners into the first chapter of her soundtrack of becoming.

HERALD K is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Vienna. He has released two albums: 'Strange Delights', and 'Mythologies'. Herald K describes his music as 'Folk Noir'. His arrangements are folksy, involving mainly acoustic instruments. His lyrics are often inspired by old, sometimes ancient, literature. In these songs you can find everything from Greek mythology to Arthurian legend. Live performances focus especially on conveying the words and stories, within a unique musical universe.

Multi-instrumentalist STEPHAN STEINER accompanies with a selection of his instruments. Stephan is a central figure on the Viennese folk scene, and is able to play a range of styles whether it be Irish, American, of the Balkans, Greek or others. With instruments like violin, accordion, nyckelharpa, concertina and tin whistle he creates soundscapes, blending tradition and the present. On this evening he will be playing a central role in this special musical collaboration.
